Les dix plus belles routes moto du Maroc
Du Tizi-n-Test à la route secondaire d'Imilchil, notre classement définitif.
Most road-rankings of Morocco are written by people who flew in for a week. Ours is written from the saddle of a GS that has done 240,000 km in this country. Take that for what it is worth.
1. Tizi-n-Test (R203)
The road no one talks about until they have ridden it. Six hundred corners in two hundred kilometres, climbing from the Souss plain to a 2,100 m saddle that drops you into the Haouz like an avalanche. Pavement was rebuilt in 2024 and is now the best surface south of Madrid.
2. Tizi-n-Tichka (N9)
The famous one. The one in every brochure. Yes, it is busier — but the rebuilt N9 with its new viaducts is genuinely one of the great engineered alpine roads of the world. Ride it at dawn.
3. The Dadès switchbacks
Twelve hairpins stacked into a rock face like a folding ladder. Photograph from the upper café. Then ride them. Then ride them in reverse.
There is a Berber word — kif-kif — that means 'same-same.' Morocco's roads are anything but kif-kif.
4–10. The list
- The back-road from Imilchil (R317)
- Todra Gorge approach from the south
- Anti-Atlas loop via Tafraoute
- The forgotten Telouet kasbah road
- Akchour to Chefchaouen
- Volubilis to Moulay Idriss
- The coastal R301 to Sidi Ifni
